Nicole McFarlane, Student Assistant
Nicole is currently a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major who intends to attend medical school after graduating in order to specialize in Psychiatry. She began working in the digital MEDIA lab as a student assistant last spring. In her position she helps students and faculty members with projects in the lab where she shares knowledge on programs in the Windows environment such as Windows MovieMaker, the entire Microsoft Office Suite and some photo editors such as Picasa 3 & Adobe Photoshop.
Dexter Davis, Student Assistant
Dexter is currently a History major who is also pursuing plans to receive his teaching license. During his time working at Instructional Technology, he has worked with a number of our audio programs. Dexter hopes to help promote our department to the students and try and change the notion that our lab is only for mathematics students. He can assure you, that if you come to visit, that we will be able to offer you more than just math.
Darius Dixson, Student Assistant
Darius is majoring in Arts and Media Management and French. He works very closely with the music, theatre, and dance departments and is a sound designer/engineer for both companies. His band, Freddie Cool is one of the most popular student acts on campus, and he serves as the Musical Director and Music Producer for the group. His specialty is audio editing (Audacity, Logic, Avid, and Reason), along with Prezi and many blog sites.
Laura Haldane, Student Assistant
Laura is currently a junior studying physics in hopes of pursuing a career as an Electrical Engineer. as a minority woman. Her background in Robotics, including my participation as Vice President in FIRST Robotics Competition, really sparked her interest in STEM. After immersing herself into the field of technology, Laura found that she thrives learning about new technology, but also being able to engage in the fight for encouraging youth to get involved in STEM.
Lauren MacDonald, Student Assistant
As a first year, Lauren is quite undecided about her major. However, Lauren plans to primarily take classes in the Biology, English, and Psychology departments. Although Lauren does not expect to take many film classes at Wooster, another major interest for her is film. In her free time, Lauren enjoys making odd movies with titles like “Sibling Wars: Rescue of the Golden Peanut.” She also likes to read and write, usually doing so during her random free moments. Finally, Lauren is huge animal lover. Do not be surprised if you see her petting the dogs at Lowry every Monday.
Henry Degrand, Student Assistant
Henry DeGrand is a Level-1 Student Technology Assistant and can be found performing general computer lab housekeeping as well as providing general assistance to those in need in Wooster’s ever-popular digital MEDIAlab.
Michelle Blackwood, Student Assistant
Michelle is a sophomore who currently serves as a Student Assistant in the MEDIA lab for the year 2011-2012. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, therefore, she can be found regularly within the halls of Taylor. She has always had a passion for computers and digital devices (in particular movie, photo album and music programs) and is willing to give her assistance in whatever way needed. Although she is a PC person, she is being converted into a Mac person as well (You may see her constantly creating projects on iMovie, iWeb and improving her Photoshop skills) and enjoys exploring the capabilities of Macs and is willing to help with PC or Mac problems.
Tin Nguyen, Student Assistant
Tin is currently a sophomore, Business Economics major and Computer Science minor. He is very excited to start his work as a Digital MediaAssistant with the beginning of CoRE. He has a lot of experience with Windows and other productivity software such as Office, Prezi, Pages, Keynote,Moviemaker, etc. He is also working on various projects with InDesign and ePublishing. With whatever questions you might have, Tin will do his best to help you out.
Elizabeth Worrall, Student Assistant
Liz is currently a junior Psychology major and Women’s Gender Sexuality Studies Minor who is hoping to become a clinical psychologist. She is working at the digitalMEDIA bar in the CoRE assisting students with various media projects. She is also working toward a deeper understanding of Woodle on campus.
Saul Propp, Student Assistant
Saul Benjamin Propp is a member of the class of 2015 and prospective Chemical-Physics / Philosophy double major. He works as a Level-1 Student Technology Assistant at the CoRE and enjoys computer games and playing in the snow. On campus, he can be found running between the CoRE and the Scheide Music Center where he sings Bass in the Wooster Chorus, rehearses with Wooster’s A Round of Monkeys, and takes Piano lessons. Saul is a graduate of The Gary and Jerri-Ann Jacobs High Tech High in San Diego, California, his hometown.
